[...What a mess. What an absolute mess. Toki had really gone off the deep end with this one. Good lord, did some of this put a lot more into context. Yes, it was in the young man's file, but it was clear now that the clandestine nature of how the supernatural was handled had always been a root problem for the young man. The logic train there was clear: had they known, Toki's sister might still be alive and he would not be carrying the weights and burdens he did... moreover, the frequent disdain that some people had for Toki's visions as they were. Well, that didn't freakin' help at all.
However, sympathetic as the vampire was to those issues, and even to Toki himself, a lot of it went out the window when more information surrounding the campus. Most of all, the pictures of people taken and posted without permission.
Of course, this surely hadn't been the first time the Academy dealt with something like this. It was the Information Age, after all, and while many of the bloodlines and traditions of Daybreak were old, its adaptation with the modern era was not. Fortunately for the Academy, and for many here, it would be easy enough to deal with, and the design was bad enough that few would take it for anything more than the ravings of a madman or a teenager with an overactive imagination. It would be easy enough to discredit. The BBC had done a story on the academy recently enough, and they weren't the only ones who had.
Of course, that would only play into Toki's narrative of concealment. Because that was, in fact, what they were doing. Even if they were doing it for the right reasons, they were still protecting a flimsy, delicate masquerade that grew more challenging every year, keeping the real horrors beyond the veil from a public that might not be ready for it. The madness and bedlam it might breed... something that could scarcely be afforded right now. Not with Nightfall so close.
Dammit, lad. There's nothing I can do to protect you on this one. Not with all of this. ...He should be thankful he's at this school. If he were anywhere else, there would be no more updates to this website. ...And probably no more Toki, either.
The in-service was going to be a disaster. There was no way this would go unanswered, and this time he couldn't try to mediate something lenient for Toki. The vampire quietly cursed that this time the lad might not be able to escape the worst case scenario.]
