So this is the infamous Daybreak Academy...gotta say, the area's changed a lot since the last time I was here.

Well, since it's been a while since I've been around in the human world, and I'm not expecting everyone to be a movie buff, I guess I oughta introduce myself. My name's Alastor, I'm the new RA for the first floor of the Aube dormitory and resident sword daemon. I can't exactly promise I know everything, of course, but feel free to give me a ring if you need advice on something.

If you're just looking for autographs, though, I'm afraid you'll need an appointment. Can't let my movie star popularity interfere with my academic life, after all.

[While Alastor was making his video on the network, there was a certain someone peering over in the background to see what was up.]

[Whether or not she knew that he was making a broadcast or not, she was curious enough about it. Who was he talking to...??]

[It might seem at first like he didn't notice her, as he doesn't react at all to her presence until he's done recording. Then he puts down his phone, and addresses her without even turning.]

There's some more hot chocolate on the stove, if you're thirsty.

There is?! [Immediately Puella turns to glance at the stove. Sure enough, there was more waiting.]

Did you make it all yourself?

Well, I didn't make the chocolate from scratch, but I did make it into this.

[The hot chocolate in the pot is rich and sweet, definitely made from actual chocolate rather than powder.]

I’ve never heard of a daemon that expected to be asked for autographs. I thought daemons were supposed to try and get you to sign stuff.

It's...not quite that simple. I've been living in a region of the Outlands that has a sort of...mutual influence with human movies. So it'd be more accurate to say I'm the real life version of a famous movie character.

Hey now, daemons can like attention, too. And I'm not really looking to make contracts right now. This school's cushy enough, I can't really think of anything I'd want to ask for that a human could offer.

...is true. This place is ritzy as hell.

Nah, hell isn't nearly this fancy. Even places of daemon kings aren't this upscale...uh, last I knew, anyway. I'll admit, it has been a while.

Around two millennia, give or take a few decades. Hard to be exact since humans went and changed the calendar on me.

[All Puella's ever had is the powdery stuff. Which ain't too bad. Because if you don't mix it completely the bottom of the cup is full of delicious chocolate slush. And it's the best.]

[But even this is great. She will have to take a cup.] Ahhhh, it looks amazing~

[She only knows a teensy bit about cooking and such so whether someone else makes something good, of course she had to take it. And she comes back to the couch with the mug.]

Just introducing myself on the school network. Figured since I'm an RA, I should make sure people know how to recognize me.

That's right.

[He lifts his mug in a sort of wave, then sits a bit more upright.]

Thanks, but I have spent some time getting used to the change. Just haven't been hanging around either human or daemon territory until recently. It's a long story.

And here I thought you could hook me up with a meeting with Michelle Rodriguez so I could get her autograph. RAs are supposed to help their fellow students.

Sorry, never actually been to Hollywood. Buuuuut I might know where to find manifestations of your favorite characters, if you want their autographs. 'Course, that's a bit outside the job I signed up for, so you'd better have some gratitude.

Yeah, I don't really have favorite characters. Movies are movies. Real people are more interesting.

[The idea some fictional characters may be real is intriguing, but she's not paid enough attention to most of that or thought much about them. Fictional stories don't have much of an impact on her. Not like biographies and documentaries and dissertations on the science of rune craft.]

Movies can be pretty important, actually. But if I'm gonna write a psych thesis on the impact and significance of fiction, I think I'll save it for class.

[She gives a shrug because she really doesn't care enough about the topic to want to hear someone's dissertation about fiction.]

I'd rather hear a thesis on the application of runic numbers in alchemic equations, but if you like it, go for it.

More interested in the hard sciences, huh? I'll admit, they are more reliable...but there's something to be said for being able to figure out what makes people tick.
