UN: STEADFASTSTANCE | SECRET...ADMIRERS??

[It's happened a few times since the Valentines Dance; a set of flowers appearing at his door, definitely marked for him- what with being the only one in the dorm right now.

Honeysuckle- coral honeysuckle, for that matter. And then Freesia, and from there each set has some mix of things. Acacia (yellow), Iris...Daisy, Snowdrop, Lilacs in purple...

The list goes on, but ultimately the meanings involved are Pretty Telling.]

So, for the past few days, a number of flowers have been appearing at my door...

...Has anyone perhaps been ordering extensively from the florists here..?

More importantly perhaps, I am attempting to think of how to respond to this, lest I run out of room to care for these flowers!!

[He was rather glad this was in the form of text, as when he saw it he nearly dropped his phone. Logically he shouldn't be this nervous... but somewhere along the line his stomach, and his heart, didn't get the memo. But this was text, he could do text, no one would see his struggles to get this to sound even remotely how he wanted it to.]

Quite a lot!

The largest amount are Freesia, and Honeysuckle...they are now growing across my former roommate's desk and furnishings, so I am hoping that no one intends to move in soon.

[Right... he should probably consider the volume of flowers... he may have already overdone it. He didn't want to make things hard on Gon if a roommate did move in.]

That could end up quite difficult.

Those seem to be an interesting mix of flowers. And there's no sign of who's been leaving these for you?

Not thus far!

I cannot scent them out, as the flowers have an overpowering scent of their own- and beyond that, there is no true signature...

I wonder if that is intended... if they've left no other sign of themselves, they may be uncertain about being found out, at least at this point.

Flowers seems like the action of someone who is worried of how their intended feelings will be taken...

Or, at least I would assume it's about feelings. I don't think I've heard much of someone sending flowers in that manner just as a casual thing.

Indeed!

At the very least, sending anonymous flowers is something of a common sight in romantic literature and film...but the flowers themselves make it fairly clear, ultimately!

The trouble is, I can't for certain answer them without knowing who it is!

[The pause before his next message is a bit longer than the ones before.]

I must confess a few things.

I wasn't sure if you would know all their meanings.

It... was perhaps a bit more cowardly, than romantic... in reality. Not being sure how you would respond and so instead not showing my hand from the start.

While all of the flowers are ones that share messages that... I wanted to send... there was one that was the most important to me... the Freesias.

[He'd been a bit thrilled when Gongenzaka had mentioned them first of all the flowers.]

Trust... isn't something that comes easy to me, though I promise the other feelings are not mistaking my trust for something more. It's more than just trusting you... but that I do trust you is...

Giorno where are you?

[Giorno had, after his long message, set down his phone and waited, not wanting to pester the other, especially after offering so much all at once. He doesn't like the wait for a response, but he understands the reasoning that it could take so long.

That response is worrying too, and he almost sends a response that it was okay if he didn't feel anything alike, but stops, deciding that is probably better talked about in person.]

I'm at my dorm room... unless you'd rather meet elsewhere?

[The thought that the only family he knows is also on this same floor of the dorm isn't even present, just that he wants to make sure this conversation doesn't lose him a friend...

He is scared of that the most, out of all the possible outcomes. He could handle being turned down, but the thought of losing his friend is terrifying.]

The dorm works fine!

It just seems like no matter what, speaking beyond what we've said on here is better in person...

As it is once he sends that message he's on his way- in day mode, since it's day.]

[Another 'of course' is that he's now nervous, with nothing really to do until the other arrives. He could clean! Except he... didn't have much to clean anywhere. Everything was kept in place and he kept the room dusted. Without a roommate he had an easy time keeping it suitable...

So all he had was to pace... and try not to anticipate what will be said. He didn't need to be fighting against his own expectations as well as the reality of things. Remember to breathe... if there was no chance at the friendship even he likely would have said so over text, rather than taking the time to come over... that was encouraging, right?

He'd be completely preoccupied with his thoughts until Gongenzaka arrived at his door.]

[Gongenzaka might be nervous. Very nervous, actually.

It might have to do with the fact that he was recognizing the starts of the same things he had felt toward Yuuya springing up for Giorno in rather fast order, and honestly he wasn't sure just how to go about that.

And now apparently Giorno feels that way??

Gongenzaka arrives, in his usual council uniform of course, but looking a little...flushed. Maybe nervous. He stands at the door for no less than a whole minute trying to work up the nerve on just what to say, and when he finally knocks, the only thing that's really going to happen when the door is opened is-]

O...Ohayou...

[That was basically a squeak. Wow.] AUH-! Or, hello, Giorno!! I..!

[gon, stop, stop yourself, please,]

[Giorno answered the door and before he could say anything it felt like all of the air rushed out of him. He hadn't gotten his thoughts to consider what it would feel like seeing Gongenzaka after he admitted his feelings.]

Caio.

[His own greeting came out in a small gust of air, and even then it took him a moment to realize they were just standing there, at his doorway.]

OH! I'm sorry, please, come in!

[He stepped aside and gestured to the room, and having to bite his tongue to stop himself from implying that the other would have any reason not to want to enter the room. They were going to talk... it's not like he'd gotten overly forward... besides, Gongenzaka could probably beat him quite quickly... the werebear probably had nothing to fear from him.

Why were his thoughts following such a random train. Focus... focus on Gongenzaka, and the fact that you two are just going to talk.]

Y-Yes!

[God they are both so bad at this.

Gongenzaka comes in, his geta clacking along the ground as he moves to stand elsewhere in the room. Ultimately, he's rather awkwardly scratching behind his head as he blushes.] S...so...

The flowers...Auh...

[...] Y...

You meant all of those things..?

[He sounds almost...hopeful?]

[Giorno closed the door behind Gongenzaka, gently enough not to make either of them jump, then he stepped away from it, heading toward his bed to sit down and even waving about to welcome the other to sit if he wanted. Giorno knew he needed to, or he was going to end up pacing the room the whole time. He sat down with one knee up, foot hooked behind his other knee to keep it from slipping off the bed. In a way the pose looked both deceptively relaxed, and defensive.]

Yes... there wasn't a flower among them that I did not mean.

[He nods and he can feel his heart flutter at the tone of the question, very much wanting for the hope he heard to be real, not something he was hearing because he wanted it there.

He knew he was nervous, but rather than fidget with things, or bounce lightly in place, now that the other was here, he went still... but behind him Gold Experience appeared, poking at the mattress he was seated on, unbeknownst to him.]

O-Of course!

[Of course?! Noboru that's not the word you say!!

The nervousness is not getting any better. Unlike Giorno, he himself is fidgeting, albeit with his hands. And....and...

And...] T..then...auh...

W...would you like to perhaps, have a tea with me?

[wait he does that normally]

AUH- I mean, downtown, at one of the cafes..! [smooth]

!!! [The surprise on his face is genuine, and delighted for a moment. He stands up with a soft smile on his face, unaware of Gold Experience behind him suddenly heavily dropping both hands to the matress, and drawing out a riot of flowers, meaning ignored as the sudden vibrant spring garden in full bloom occurs behind him.]

I would love to!

[He pauses a moment then, reaching out a hand shyly, to set on Gongenzaka's.]

But... so that I don't misunderstand... I just want to be sure...

[Now was a horrible time to nervously ramble.]

You... are open to this as well? Us... incontri?

Aw, this sucks. Desco really wanted to help Gon find out the identity of the challenger! You're really bad at issuing challenges, Mr. Giorno.

Someone is leaving you flowers, Gon? That can only mean one thing; that person is laying down a challenge upon you!

[Ahahahaaaa...Fortunately for his secret admirer, he already knows half of these flowers mean 'I love you'.]

It is obvious! By sending you flowers, the gifter is forcing you to investigate who sent them. And then, once their identity has been discovered, you will be forced to give them an even better gift! That sounds very challenge-like to Desco!
