[The video feed pops up and young girl can be seen sitting at a desk that has been extensively decorated with bows and stars. A pink rice cooker is placed on the desk as well.]

It's dreamy nice to meet you! I'm Yui Yumekawa and I just arrived here from Japan.

I'm making dreamy cute yumeprika rice balls right now, so come over to Lumière room 303 if you want some!

Wait, do these dorms also have rules against eating in your room?
[Her thoughts seem to drift off and she starts mumbling to herself.]
Oh no, we might end up having a forbidden rice friendship... But what if we're found out one day because I leave a rice grain trail and we'll be separated forever... Ahh, I'll never forget about all the rice balls we shared!!

The rice is cooked. [A robotic voice comes from the blue rice cooker and Yui comes back to reality.]

Here we go! See you dreamy soon~

[The feed ends. If you enter Lumière's third floor you'll be greeted by the smell of rice and anyone who comes into Yui's room will be greeted by a mountain of rice balls.]

Greetings. Is this the transfer student with the... rice post?

[Yui opens the door, holding the rice ball she just finished making in one hand]

My very first visitor!!
Yes, that was me. Come in and have some dreamy rice!

My thanks. [She nods and comes in, removing her shoes at the door.] I must say, it's a good way to make friends when you come here at the end of the year.

[Many rice balls decorated with heart and star shaped pieces of nori have been stacked on the desk, resembling some kind of rice ball shrine, but cute.]

I really hope I can make a lot of friends soon! It's such a dreamy cute school in such a dreamy cute town!! It would be a waste to not have many dreamy friendships as well.

That said, I hope we can become friends, too!

[She hands Kokoro one of the many rice balls.]

[Kokoro takes one and starts eating it without a care.]

You have my gratitude. My name is Kokoro Belmont. I know not about the school being... cute or dreamy, but yes, a good many people here are happy to befriend new arrivals. I've only been back from assignment about a year, but it feels like a good deal longer; then again, I used to attend here as a child, too.

At least it looks like something out of a fairy tale and and if I dreamy do my best I believe I can make it dreamy as well!!
[Things may not seem sunshine and rainbows but she will paint them anyway.]

So you've already been on a mission?
You must really know a lot if you've been here for so long.

Multiple. I'm unsure if I know a lot, but I do my best in all endeavours. My family's legacy is a great expectation. You're new to the supernatural, I take it, then. A lot of our newer students are Candles, so they're in the same boat.

Yeah, I've lived a perfectly ordinary life until recently. It was a dreamy shock when I suddenly had powers! It still kinda feels like I'm daydreaming.
[Content wise it would fit with many of her daydreams but she can't have been spacing out for this long, right?]

So you're not a Candle?

[She shakes her head.]

I am not. I come from an old Hunter clan; I have a few bloodline abilities, but not true Radiance. I do also have a Rune Armour, but I don't always use it. I must say it has been a bit of a shock to have so many civilians.

[So many words Yui's heard a bit about but she can't really grasp the meaning of them all yet.]

Wow, you're a expert then! I'll try my dreaming best to learn as much as possible, too!

Umm, can I ask what your abilities are?

My abilities outside of weapons and Rune Armour training? Well, there's one attack -- historically it's called a Grand Cross, but mine goes the wrong way, so I've called it a Lightning Sword. A cross beam with holy capabilities. I wouldn't do that indoors. ...And a few months ago, we were in a castle where some of the doors would open with my blood? But I wouldn't call that an ability, it was more of a spell on the door. Some things will recognize me as a member of my family, like alchemic weapons and such that were built for that. But most of what I do is fight using weapons or my Rune Armour.

[More confusing words but but she's impressed nevertheless. She doesn't really know where to start asking but one thing sticks out a bit too much-]

THE DOORS OPENED WITH YOUR BLOOD?!
That's dreamy scary... How did your blood get on it in the first place?!

I pricked my finger? I mean, there was an inscription, and I knew from old family stories it might be a possibility... are you quite okay?

A-ah, um, yes, I'm okay. [Apparently that one didn't fit her daydreams.]

I'm sorry, all of this is just so new to me.
But I'll give my dreamy best to get used to it!

Worry not! It's not something you have to deal with!

[Maybe she was a bit too open...]

But I want to be able to help out, too!

[What else would you even get powers for if not to be a dreamy hero?]

And you will, and I applaud you for that. Perhaps... how do I put it. Become your own kind of hero rather than worry about the tales of others? Then again, I am far from the person who should be giving that advice... at all.

Does that mean you worry about not being good enough, too? Even though you already know so much...

[Oh no, she did mention a bloodline! What mysteries could be hidden there; was she raised as a boy because she was the only heir? Or because her brother sacrificed himself in a battle? Yui's thoughts drift off to make up a full-fledged backstory for Kokoro...]

You've been through so much but you're still so kind to a rookie like me!

[Kokoro turns pink and looks away, flustered.]

Yes, well. That may be true, but we are both students, are we not? We all must strive our hardest for the sake of all creation.

[Becky usually sticks with purely-text messages when it comes to the network, but this time she's using her webcam, offering Yui a view of a girl that looks even younger than her; she doesn't look a day past seven. There's a miniature fridge in plain view behind her, and a number of plastic containers stacked on top of it.]

If there were rules against it, a lot of us in here would be breaking them pretty regularly.

I'm Becky, up in the room above yours. [403.] I could bring some cookies down if you're okay with trading instead of just giving stuff away. What kind would you want? I've got chocolate chip, peanut butter, and sugar cookies—both frosted and unfrosted.

[It's nice to see someone younger than her. Maybe it's a chance to act like a cool big sister?]

Phew, that's a relief! My former school was very strict about it and I had to hide my snacks all the time.

Trading cookies and rice balls sounds dreamy cute, maybe we could even combine them! I love colorful frosted sugar cookies but I'd also like to try the cookies you like, Becky!

[Becky is older than she looks, though, and hopefully Yui won't be too disappointed by that when she finds out.

She turns around in her chair to reach over to the containers on the fridge and pulls them off, taking a look into each to see which one was what since she hadn't bothered to label them this time, then pulls a specific one from that bunch while putting the rest back. She also grabs a separate container from somewhere off-camera, and once it's on-camera it's clear that this extra container is empty. She's probably planning to store some away for later after they make that trade.]

I could come down right now if you want. It might take a minute though since I'm going to be taking the stairs, not the elevator.

That'd be great!!
I'm going to prepare an extra dreamy rice ball for you in the meantime.

Okay, I'll be down there in a bit. [And off the webcam goes.

A minute or two later, she's knocking on the door to room 303.]

[Yui excitedly opens the door, holding a huge rice ball with a little strawberry on top.]

Nice to meet you in person, Becky!! Come in!

Hey. [She steps in as soon as she's told, carrying those containers on one hand—she's used the other one to knock, after all. Once she figures out which side of the room Yui is using, both of the containers are set down on that side's desk and then the empty one taken off and set aside so the one with the cookies in it can be opened up.

Since the frosted sugar cookies are what got a response, those are what she brought, and she brought a lot; as many as she could really fit in there, which means that a number of the cookies have frosting in places where frosting doesn't normally go.

It looks like she'd made them herself, too.]

I would have dragged my roommate down here with me, but she's been a little busy lately.

[She closes the door and follows Becky to the desk marveling at the cookies. She thinks the other girl is younger than her after all.]
Wooow, did you make all these yourself, or did your roommate help?

Ah, I dreamy wish I had a roommate, too...
We could stay up and talk all night and have snacks together and become dreamy bestest friends...

Oh, yeah, I made these myself. [Becky does get help from Lia on various occasions, though, sometimes with actually making things since that way they're done a little quicker, but also by having Lia get to things that Becky just can't reach on her own.] Go ahead and try some.

Wow, that's amazing!! [Impressed by the to her very young baking genius she goes ahead and takes one of the cookies from the container and tries it.]

These are dreamy delicious! [Not as good as rice but still good.]
Where did you learn how to bake like this?

Oh, my mom got me started on this stuff... I think it was around six or seven years ago? [Several of the things she's done are from recipes she's found online, albeit with some changes here and there.]

Ah, I also remember dreamy cooking with my mom when I was younger... [but wait, not when she was that young.] Aren't you younger than me? Were you a baby baking genius?! [That seems to be the most likely explanation... to Yui at least.]

[There's the question Becky's been expecting, or a variant of said question, at least. There's a short delay before she answers it, as she considers how Yui might possibly react.]

Probably not, actually. I mean, I turned eighteen a few months ago.

[ Miach doesn't like video calls very much, but she will compromise for a voice connection. ]

Why rice?

[ Even if this is literally all she has to say..... ]

[Ah a mysterious stranger. What could their true identity be? But it's more important to convince them of the dreamy power of rice right now.]

Because it is dreamy delicious and gives you all the energy you need to make your dreams come true!! There's nothing better than rice!

[ .... okay, this is a fraction more relatable than she wanted it to be, even if there's a lot of excess talk about dreams that Miach could have done without. ]

That applies to all foods with high nutritional value, does it not? Though I wouldn't disagree that rice is one of the better ways to make sure your brain stays up to speed.

i dont think theres rules about that. i eat in my room all the time.

[Except most of that food is usually stolen late at night from the school kitchen.]

[Getting into trouble so soon after changing schools was not in her daydreams, at least not in such an undramatic way.]
