i got a very important thing to ask everyone!

umm...... im looking for more stuff about magical hourglasses. theres way too much to read, so i thought it would be better to ask somebody if they knew something. other ones, like the one i got.

i need to know where they are now.

well the one i got was in a museum. a normal museum.

[She's not adding how or why it was in her possession now.]

so that and they could have ended up in places like those too.

Do you mean to say they are your property, not just your interest or something you seek?

...............not exactly. but i know some people that mightve known the owners.

Were these stolen out of your ancestors' graves, because I am starting to suspect the answer may be yes.

...it mightve been.

[Maybe if all of them even got real graves.]

While I hesitate to steal anything... well, a good number of these places have stolen goods a long time ago in the first place. Along with that, museums would likely have publicized their collections regardless, and it sounds like you need more than that.

and thats bad too!!!

like....the school was alright with stealing stuff from the museum if theyre magical. they dont want normal humans to know about them.

I see. I will consult the library as best I can for any hint of such a thing existing. About when were they lost, what era?

everybody disappeared more than 100 years ago. the ones i met said that they were from the 1800s!

[The uh, later half of the 1800s presumably.]

so its around there.

Do you have a specific area of the world?

oh, most of them used to live pretty close to where i do! near london and stuff...

[That may or may not be the last place seen, though.]

sure they would! youre a hunter and they used to be hunters.

I suppose... Who are these people you speak of, anyway?

they used the mist from the rift to protect people! they made other stuff with it but the hourglasses was their key to getting in.

.....but then things from the outlands started targeting them instead. theres only two of them left but they cant leave the rift at all.

A truly grim fate... I'm sorry. No wonder they need their things back -- though of course they would in any event. I promise you, I will endeavour as best I can for this.

well....sorta. i think if there is still time pieces left its more likely it used to belong to one of their friends.

i havent actually told them or parents about it yet. i wanted it to be a surprise because they seem sort of lonely and probably would want to keep it! [And it was bad, if others misused it.]

i guess my family would have also had one a loooong time ago too, but i dunno what happened to it now.

i have an attic full of secret stuff!

......but i dont think anything like that would be there. i would have heard about it by now.

[Thinks about it for awhile, then adds on.]

my hat came from there though. i think that mightve belonged to somebody, but it was just a normal hat.

I see. With the enchantments you put on things, it isn't surprising. Do you have tracking charms as well for things like that?

i sorta know how to make those!

but im not sure how to track for the hourglasses exactly.

I can see who can find out. Surely there's something in a higher-level textbook.

my hat does already detect mist for me.

[If that would help. Never really thought of it til now.]

And they'd be found in high concentrations of Mist, right? Magical artifacts, after all... though of course we'd still need to find them.

they have mist in them! or theyre supposed to.

[Technically the one she found was almost empty. Not exactly sure how much her hat would notice that.]

so its possible it could find them....but its sorta unlikely too. because its anything that has mist.

So we must first track down a general area and then find them with your hat. That makes sense.
