i mean theres friends names

but i dont think you should name a pet a friend name

It could well be. How about something that isn't a common person name? Like the name of a food or plant...

a food would be good though. theres lots of different foods i like....but i should name them after something they like right?

That's possible, but I do not think it a general rule? I mean, people name rabbits Choco, and one ought not feed them that.
