Mostly the necessities. And two more extra pairs of socks than you'll think you'll need.

Clothing for every day you need, at least one extra set of regular clothes, one in anticipation of colder days or at least a sweatshirt and long pants, walking shoes, house shoes, nice shoes should you attend any formal events, do not forget your winter jacket if it's nicer here than there. For other things, it should depend where you are going and for what purpose.
