Miscast healing spells can be damaging, so that's not too conclusive. I'm not familiar with Orihime's power, so I'm still missing too much data. There's an awful lot of factors involved.
My proposed methodology remains the same- We'll try something similar, if not identical if Orihime will allow me to study her power, cast by me. Best case scenario that will heal the burn and confirm it was a simple miscast. Easy to overcome with training. Worst case scenario you do have an adverse reaction and it hurts a little more.
Well, actually the worst case scenario is the damage is multiplicative rather than additive and your hand rots off, but I consider that extremely unlikely.
