I... suppose I should introduce myself if I'm new, right? That'd be the polite thing to do.

My name is Kisara and I'm not that interesting, I promise. I also apologize if we meet in person and my English is a bit... rusty, it's not my first language and I'm still working on some words and phrases that are a little strange when translated. Not that... we don't have anything weird when translated from my native language, too.

With... that out of the way, is there any particular languages that are spoken here frequently other than obviously French and English? I didn't get to travel much before here so I'm always curious about how other countries are?

I'm rambling, sorry. Just wanted to do that introduction and apologize in advance?

English has too many words.

[Part of this perception may, in fact, be from having a 5 year old's vocabulary for the last while.]

I'm Reira. There's lots of countries in books but I think the places called 'outlands' have more.

I don't know why it's all called 'the outlands', everything is different in 'the outlands'.

It's the place where all the places that change a lot are.

Like places with big mushrooms, or candy houses, or upsidedown stairs.

There's a lot of other places but I don't have words for those ones. They were just other places.

Japanese, German, and Spanish are fairly common on campus.

There is no need to apologize.

I don't know I guess so.

There's a lot more places there than in 'the world' though I'm pretty sure. Most of the things in the books about the world look the same.

[They do not look the same, they just all happen to have vaguely similar wildlife is all. Don't be rude Reira.]

Don't worry much about it. A lot of us slip up with languages around here, so you won't be alone in making mistakes sometimes. I still have problems with Japanese, and that's my first language.

Speaking of that, Japanese seems to be a pretty common language around here. As is German.

And oh yeah, you can call me "Gunvolt" or "GV," whichever you prefer. Good to meet you!

[His profile will list his actual first name as "Gustav," of course, but the nickname's definitely what he seems to prefer.]

They're in the book place, called a library.

People told me to go there if I had more than 'a few' questions, so I just go there if I have questions mostly.

There's things you can use to take pictures of words and learn what they mean.

[That's clunky Reira.]

Part of that was that I ended up in Germany when I was five or six... and I just picked up German instead. I've spoken that now more than Japanese, and... frankly it's a lot easier because it's not so reliant on context.

What was your first language, if you don't mind my asking?

Yeah.

I use the one where you say a word and it tells you too.

It helps with saying it right.

[It's also why more than a few people have mistakenly assumed she's fluent in English.

She is Absolutely Not.

Arabic? Wow, I've heard that can be a tough one to learn, and considering how different it is from English... yeah, can definitely understand that.

Doesn't it read right to left like Japanese, too?

It is a pleasure to meet you, Kisara. I am Grimm Lavoie.

There are quite a variety of languages within the school. It's quite fascinating! But aside from English and French, it appears to be Japanese that is most commonly used.

What language do you speak, my friend?
fireindreams: (.♪ At something other then yourself)

Why, thank you. Your name is quite unique as well.

I believe so? I admit I have not traveled down that way in a long time.
[Even if time is irrelevant to someone who is immortal.]

I do know a number of languages however, so if you are struggling with something I would be happy to leand a hand.
