Let's have a little chat, somewhere that's a little safer for you to say what you want to. Since I know some of you are never going to remotely do anything face-to-face, I've come to terms with that. I can't blame anyone for not wanting to, either.

With the nature of this place, it's understandable that there's some underlying fear of what's to come of the future. Whether it's going to happen before you're ready, that you might lose someone or something important to you due to it.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day, we can't really know the future. We can get bits and pieces of it, we can speculate based on that evidence, but we can't know everything that's going to happen. There's always some form of loss when it comes to a fight on the scale that will eventually be here, and I'll say that even in the darkest of times there's always a shred of light.

I can say that from experience. While this would be on a much larger scale than my own, wars of all sorts have been fought on this planet, whether or not you're aware of them. The shinobi mages were no different from the rest of the world, if I remember correctly, we'd been through three major wars between our different villages, or clans. Many of us lost those close to us, many lost their own lives, for what was perceived as the greater good.

God, I'm rambling. My point is that of the things to be worrying about, don't let it be the inevitable, it will only hold you back and put you in a rut. Perhaps when the time comes, you'll grow even stronger through your struggles.

[Lin read this at 6:30 in the morning. She glanced at when it was posted, and decided that Tsunade was PROBABLY still in bed. A normal person might have messaged her but Lin was not terribly used to modern technology and it honestly didn't occur to her.

At around ten (She HAD to be waking up by now), she knocked on Tsunade's door.]

[Assuming Tsunade is ever awake at any time is always a crapshoot. Which is absolutely why she's groaning quietly and sinking into one of her chairs and Tonton is just buhing at the door. Until the tiny pig is doing some ridiculous mess to make a tiny tower and get the door open for Lin.

[She blinked when she saw a tiny pig instead of a woman and spent a moment wondering if Tsunade was a werepig. She decided probably not, patted Tonton on the head, and cautiously peered into the gloomy apartment beyond.

She held an insulated cardboard cup in front of her, like bait for some kind of elusive beast.]

I brought coffee.

[A werepig wouldn't even be the weirdest thing here, but Tonton is making an appreciative noise and hopping back down to scuttle into the darkness.

Because Tsunade's just squinting at the doorway for a moment and just huffing quietly.]

Back here. Light switch is by the door. [That's not the most impressed voice ever, or anything other than just put-out.]

I don't have anything to do with this whole Nightfall army shit or whatever. I just know from personal experience that that's how this shit works.

Spies, mercenaries, assassins, we do a number of things depending on what we need to do. Shinobi, ninja, same thing really.

And same reason anyone else in the world fights, because idiots can't agree with one another or get power hungry.

Not necessarily. Some people will lose nothing, others could lose more. It... depends on who's involved, I suppose.

[That is even more of a loaded question when Puella would probably have to smack dab in the middle of it, regardless. Candles were after all some part of the key to survival, that is currently what everyone says. But it's hard to say where everyone else will be.]

I accept that loss is a possibility and I am prepared to face it, but frankly, your dedication should be preventing it and not already resigning ourselves to it.

Knowing what possibilities are there helps prepare a person if it comes to fruition. Or, at least, that was what I was taught through the Academy and through training.

But believe me, if there's anything I could or can do to prevent it, I'd be one of the first out there.
