Is that truly enough? Some people believe animals can think and feel. Do they count as people, too?

Huh - honestly, maybe? There's people arguing about that now. You're not going to find an easy answer to this question, if all-knowing gods exist, they're sure as hell keeping quiet on the big answers.

I just know anyone who can easily go 'Oh someone isn't a person because of X, Y or Z' is either naive, or got something to sell you.

In tradition they are said to be. But honestly, who knows for sure? Maybe they're just as dumb and confused as the rest of us. I mean, they're probably dumber given some stories I've heard. Like the one god who kept screwing over the dwarves so often they sewn his mouth shut.

So, yeah - this is one of those 'you gotta decide the answers' situation.
