it's almost christmas! how does it feel to be approaching the holidays when nightfall is approaching so quickly? make sure to spend your time wisely, because you might not be here next year you might be three meters underground!

You really think we're going to die in the near future????? It seems fine to me, everyone seems to be doing a good job of making sure that's not going to happen! Besides, it seems like a depressing thought to think of things that way. Everything can be changed if you put enough towards it and go about the situation properly, I think.

As for, ah, the holidays...

I suppose I'll stay here for them, we don't tend to make a big fuss out of the ones celebrated in Europe over in Japan, after all. [That and he has Other Plans he's not talking to anyone about right now, oops.]

... How is that even remotely the same? Nightfall isn't something that is absolutely going to happen, nor is it something that is unable to be stopped, unlike something like a reflection from a celestial body. Nightfall is more tangible as in the fact there are people actively working to bring it about. The moon's reflection happens simply due to the sun and moon's positioning towards the Earth.

They sent me out here to learn and, honestly, it would probably be better for me to remain here to learn more than to go back there. I have family out here in France, as well, so we shall see what happens!

correct on some accounts--i'll give you a b! what nightfall and the moon have in common is that they're both too big for people like us to simply stop. don't you find it hilarious how the world thinks that some students can stop something that's been in the motions for such a long time?

just like how we can't stop the moon or its reflection, we won't be able to stop nightfall completely. next year, or perhaps the one after, many of us will be nothing more than rotting corpses!

i'm surprised, though. is there really that much to learn? because they pushed me all the way to an undergraduate level as soon as i transferred over.

Except that it can still be stopped, there are other resources out there other than just the students, or the faculty for that matter. I have heard the whispers, I have heard the mage families speaking to each other about what is going on. It's simply not true that they're counting on us and only us.

I highly doubt that will be the outcome.

Magic is simply a strange thing that needs to be harnessed with a practiced hand. My family uses types far different than my own, the simple reason as to why I'm here. The actual school part of it hardly bothers me, it's merely there to keep up the fact that this is supposed to be a school. It's nothing like the academy I was used to back home and simply not on the same level, either.
