a couple centuries ago, St. Valentines was crucified for the CRIME of being SMOKING HOT, and to commemorate this we all post pictures of ourselves for the rest of the students to tell us whether or not we are smoking Hot or a desperate Not.

its actually really easy to substitute magical excuses with the mundane without changing the story
you were meeting someone important somewhere you shouldn't have been
this guy showed up who had a problem with you
you and i attempted to de-escalate the situation but more problems arose
your friend showed up however
the two had history and things resolved from there
unfortunately there were some injuries along the way
