[They don't know why they turn to the network for this. But there's many people in Daybreak so maybe they can give Adriel the right answer.]
I read in a book that if someone's hurt and trapped, you should let them go.
Is that the right answer? Letting them go?
[Something boils in them for phrasing this as something Adriel simply read in a book. And they themself don't know why they're lying. But it's the only way.]

Know about what?

We were together for a little while.
It didn't want me there.
It wanted to hurt me.
You didn't notice back then.
But I've known.
no subject
But I don't mean that.
I just didn't understand this book.
[That's all, they promise.]

I wish we were one. It would be easier to read you.
This book then.
I have read a lot of books like it.
Have you read far in?

I wish we were too. I wish I wasn't like this.[But they backspace all of it. It's...they...]
It's the first one I've read. Like this.
I haven't read the ending yet.
[Adriel knows they're afraid to see the ending.]

There are many monsters.
In my stories, someone asks for help from one.
It takes a promise and eats all the other monsters in exchange.
But there are no happy endings yet.
I have not read the end of your book.
But no monster makes a deal. And the other monsters live.
There is pain.
A lot of pain.
The deal monster wants to help.
But there is another character who is very close.
They discover this.
But I don't know how much or what they think.
Did you read that far?

This book is a story about one person who was hurt really badly.
But they did something bad first.
But the people hurt them more.
They were put away somewhere dark.
Who is in the right? The people or that person?

They did something wrong. You're not supposed to do something wrong.
no subject
The people who hurt them?
I don't see what those people would know about what's right and wrong.
How can they, if they act like monsters?
no subject
They're people who were hurt by someone's actions.
But that person was
angry. about something.
no subject
[They're not biased at all.]
Of course, that person was angry.
They were betrayed.
It makes me angry.
no subject
So the people had to put them away.
Isn't that how it works?
If you do something wrong, you have to be told or shown that there's consequences.

[No. Restart.]
In the other stories, the monsters would make up things wrong
just to punish the people for fun.
Just because they were small and stupid and evil
and they liked to make the people hurt.
They would use big punishments
for little mistakes.
They would break a bone for forgetting a chore.
They would beat for being late.
They would do it for no reason at all
just to make sure the people were afraid.
But worst of all
they would do it even though they were supposed to love the people.

[The feeling within them thrashes like a school of piranhas in their belly.]
I know that the book's family isn't like this. It can't be.

Please don't say they're bad people.
[Maybe it gives away they're talking about something real, but they can't help it. Adriel knows their family is good because they've been told that. What they do is the right thing in all aspects.
Right?]
no subject
They hurt you.
[Breaking the rules of the game. But, they don't delete it.]
The family hurt this person.
And they put them in
another person.
And now both are hurting.
That's not fair.
Why would the family do that if they were good?
What does that other person learn except that they aren't loved enough?
What does the person carrying them learn except that they can be used?
What is learned except that both will be punished by them and each other?
Adriel
I'm scared.
I don't want that family to make
the people
go away.
no subject
[Wouldn't do that to them? But they know full well that the anger the other person inside of them feels is genuine. It's like a forest fire that rages on and on, despite the attempts to put it out. Adriel has a feeling that it's still going purely out of sheer spite at this point.
It hurts, and it hurts to think that their family might be the cause of it. That they took someone and hurt them until nothing but that pain and anger survived, and then put them away inside of Adriel. They know what binds this person.
Spells so nobody would notice them. Spells to make sure that person remained forgotten.]
I'm sorry I'm scaring you, Sira. I promise I won't anymore.
no subject
Please.
[They can't. They can't play the game anymore.]
I just don't want you to be hurt.
You're my friend. I love you.
I'm scared for YOU.
no subject
I love you too.
no subject
But Adriel was not a host.]
Can I see you?
Please.
