These eggs must be about to hatch some time soon. The assignment period is nearly over and mine has yet to crack, even though I've been following the directions! I think. I do hope I haven't gotten any of them wrong. At least we haven't had much to fight while taking them about with us.

Though, speaking of which... is it wrong to feel almost empty without the constant threat of something from which to save the world? I know many of you must only be relieved that it's over, Nightfall and everything that preceded it, and yet for me, it seems as if the thing that consumed my life, all our lives, is just gone, and naught but a void remains in its place. Certainly I do not wish for further misfortune or a new evil to grow, but I'm still at a loss as far as... well, life in general.

I would seek assistance. Or at least not being made fun of.

You mean, to see what might be fun, or grant a feeling of purpose again, however that may come. A daunting prospect for certain. All I can think about myself is the duty I was raised with, and I still hesitate to rest even now, just in case.

Indeed, to both of those things. And your reticence to giving up your vigilance is wise, in ways. There will, of course, always be dangers we must respond to... though, we cannot say if anything can possibly match the scope of what we have already dealt with.

But I suppose another way to consider it... is that your duty can be a value you still uphold, but it need not be the only thing that truly matters. As you say, however it may come, it will be worth trying.

I've spoken with a few friends about the matter, but I still lack the understanding I need. Yet I'll endeavour my best regardless. At the least, it is fun to be able to relax some, even if it also feels dangerous to be tempted into resting when I shouldn't.
