These eggs must be about to hatch some time soon. The assignment period is nearly over and mine has yet to crack, even though I've been following the directions! I think. I do hope I haven't gotten any of them wrong. At least we haven't had much to fight while taking them about with us.

Though, speaking of which... is it wrong to feel almost empty without the constant threat of something from which to save the world? I know many of you must only be relieved that it's over, Nightfall and everything that preceded it, and yet for me, it seems as if the thing that consumed my life, all our lives, is just gone, and naught but a void remains in its place. Certainly I do not wish for further misfortune or a new evil to grow, but I'm still at a loss as far as... well, life in general.

I would seek assistance. Or at least not being made fun of.

i dont really know.... it was supposed to a secret right? so it could be just about anything!

Most likely. They did give us a good variety. What if it's something that grows to be large, though?

I wonder how Tamers in general are doing now without the Veil? Being able to introduce their familiars and such to the world around them.

they gotta be doing much better now. it aint easy to hide a pet...

let alone a fire breathing one.

That's certainly true. I simply worry for the reactions of the people around them. The fall of the Veil was a shock to the entire world.

I do not think most of them would have a problem with those who saved them. Tamers, Candles, or anyone else. But there is a reason that Hunters have a poor reputation around here.

Because sometimes, a civilian will see something that doesn't belong in their perception of reality and seek to "put things to rights," as it were. It's a problem, and one we all must work to stop.

Or at least harbour prejudice. Bad indeed. Hunters are supposed to protect the people, not hunt down the innocent.

The same thing we've always done. Work to protect anyone who needs it. Is that not why we've spent our entire academic careers going around the world on missions? Well, at least once we were old enough, but you know.
