Hola, everyone. I'm that one evening TA from Aube, for those who don't know.
I'm sure by now we've all noticed the little issue of extra little ones running around. Now obviously there's no good way to explain all of this, so I thought maybe we could all gather our stories here so we don't get our wires crossed. You know, share names and other details and stuff.
I also thought it might help if some of us could maybe use babysitters in given times. That way there's less of... pretty much all of us running around.
Also, remember that lots of these kids can probably figure out the internet so mind what you say.
I'll go first:
I'm "Señor R.", I'm looking after "Héctor (just Héctor) who also goes by Teto". He is "an entirely normal kid with no special abilities or anything so nothing to worry about there but he's a bit of trouble sometimes and may need wrangling" and I'm "not at all available during the day and could really use someone who is".
You all do the same but replace whatever's in quotations with the appropriate names and details. Then we can sort of reference back here as we go.
[OOC: Dated somewhere before Teto and Avery wind up in the infirmary probably but wibbly wobbly time.]

All that suffering
for just one week a season?
And when you're free, you just watch someone else go through it?
no subject
But I keep telling you there's good parts.
Getting to look after kids can be one of those good parts!
You just have to be ready first.
no subject
Okay, but!!!
My way is better.
And!
Your humans that aren't ready can use this
to try and be ready!
Just so long as they aren't cruel to the children.
no subject
I suppose it's too late now anyway.
But if you're making this happen please keep making sure the kids aren't hurting themselves either.
Preferably before it happens.
no subject
but I can't so I don't.
no subject
Maybe a good reason to not do this too often...?
no subject
I feel bad about the complications,
but it is to be expected.
I will have to factor in cars
and mean boys who trap children in boxes
if I do this again.
no subject
You should absolutely not do this again.
There's more to factor in than cars and
whatever's happening with that horrifying story.
There are so many things to look out for and this is why humans look after their kids!
Because we know better what to do and look for.
You've got to worry about their health, how they feel, the millions of little things that could hurt them.
Humans are really, really, really delicate but every person is important so we can't just do things like say "well, those kids died, but we'll know better for the next kids".
no subject
not letting them die!
I don't want them to die.
I don't even want them to disappear,
but my wishes and magic can't last forever
and maybe your wishes are fighting mine.
I'm going to miss them so much.
no subject
If these kids find out they're going to disappear, they're going to be terrified.
Even if they could be okay with becoming part of us again, not all of us turned out the way we wanted when we were kids.
I'm doing my best to keep these kids from dying but, I am a parent, actually, so I do have some bare idea of what to do which a lot of others don't and this is still tricky. Especially factoring in the above.
The kids are great. The fact that nobody here, not even myself, is prepared to handle this is not great.
no subject
...
Well,
if you all learn from this,
then I will, too.
I am comfortable promising that much
and not worrying about lies!
Deal?
no subject
But that's probably the most reassuring thing you've said so far.
So I'll take it.
As long that's a simple human deal and not some kind of weird contract deal thing, I don't do those.
And if you learn, who knows, maybe one day there will be a time and place for doing this kind of thing for people who ask and are able to handle it. That would be okay.
no subject
Just say that!
Contracts are booooring.
This is a human deal!
no subject
cute, but less reassuring than you think it is.
Good.
Then you have a human deal.
no subject
But...
Magic is really cool and good.
Yay!
no subject
That's a human thing, if you don't know what those are.
It usually involves freaking out about death, non-existence, realness, and things like that.
no subject
I think those kinds of things are funny,
not at all a crisis.
no subject
They are probably some of the least funny things possible.
no subject
no subject
But I'm sure there's all kinds of things humans find hilarious that fae don't.
no subject
that you make dance by the window
even when you're not in the car
no subject
don't even know what that is but that's definitely human humor for you.
no subject
they're suffering
no subject
AHAH
Oh, yes, those are very funny.
[But not as funny as this.
Should he tell them?
Maybe not yet.]
