How do you take care of a cat?

Look, don't remove the cats claws. If they start scratching anything important there are much better ways of dealing with it that don't involve removing bodyparts.

[weird daemon-y way of approaching it, but technically not wrong!]
Though I don't think it's very good at fighting.
Can you train a cat to fight?

Assuming it's a normal cat, anyways. Magic cats? You can throw everything I just said out the window.

But it should be able to fight better.
It almost got killed by some people back in America. Maybe if it fought better it could have escaped.

Even if they didn't, there are people in New Berk who managed to catch and lock up full-grown drakes before we stopped fighting them. And while I doubt the guys who catnapped your cat were Viking Warriors, it's just a normal cat. There's only so much they can actually do.

I bet I can make it venomous.

[It wasn't like Hiccup could say anything against venomous pets. Half the people in Berk had venomous pets, including his own wife.]
