Everyone can be responsible for their own mood. If they get theirs ruined, they might at least learn something from it.

I don't think I particularly care what happens to me after I'm gone, but I do think I'd like it more to be useful to the animals than to be useful to society as a 'pitiful victim of the war', that's true.

very few people are actually important enough to be remembered for so long. maybe ten years or so, sure, if they have family, or if they did something that's somewhat significant.

i doubt you've reached that yet, so if you die, i think that you'll probably just be another number for the statistics. ah, maybe the outlanders will remember you for a while though,as a delicious meal!

i think giving back to the earth is a wonderful thing! our bodies will rot and become one with the soil again--it makes me wonder if this is actually something that the earth wants. like nature taking its course.

No, they probably won't. But that's all the more reason to not shield them from discomfort.

I don't know about the will of nature and whether or not it exists, but I do think decay is in itself rather beautiful. There is something raw and honest about it. The Japanese used to love depicting it in their art - it's a shame that tradition mostly died out.

Saltah for one! It's a type of brown meat stew with sahawiq (a type of hot sauce), a plant called fenugreek - which kind of taste like a cross between celery and maple? and hard to get in the states, and then you throw in rice, vegetables, and scoop it up with flat bread once it's done.

ah, i've seen this before, actually! it's beautiful, and yet reminds us that we're no different from other living beings. humans make such a fuss about being such, about being better or worse than others but, when they die, they rot the same way as any living creature would.

but i guess that's why my favorite version of the underworld has to be kur, from all the way back in ancient sumeria. no final judgement, no reward or penalty for who they were in life.

actually, ive heard of stories? about an octopus-woman who would drown those that annoyed her. that type of creater was called a cecaelia. and in ancient hawai'i mythology, one of the gods, kanaloa was also depicted as a squid or octopus! they were the god of the underworld!
