I... suppose I should introduce myself if I'm new, right? That'd be the polite thing to do.
My name is Kisara and I'm not that interesting, I promise. I also apologize if we meet in person and my English is a bit... rusty, it's not my first language and I'm still working on some words and phrases that are a little strange when translated. Not that... we don't have anything weird when translated from my native language, too.
With... that out of the way, is there any particular languages that are spoken here frequently other than obviously French and English? I didn't get to travel much before here so I'm always curious about how other countries are?
I'm rambling, sorry. Just wanted to do that introduction and apologize in advance?

I'll be there in a little bit?
no subject
better to be prepared yeah
see you in a bit then. look for a dark haired dude with a red jacket and a sword
[Over to action]
I don't know if this was the best idea... [She's muttering softly to herself, but hopefully this won't go too bad, right?]
no subject
You're Kisara?
[Maybe he should be starting with a "hi" or something, but what's decorum when you've basically agreed to attack a person for great purpose....]
no subject
That would be me. [With a pretty obvious accent, but that's to be expected at this point, even as she's fidgeting with her hands.]
How should we do this...? I don't really have an idea to go on.
no subject
Keith. Uh... nice to meet you. [Much belated.] You said it's whenever you feel seriously threatened, right?
[A beat.]
Gonna guess knowing that I'm not actually out to hurt you is counterproductive for that.
[Unless, of course, he gets her by surprise, which... no, he hasn't crossed that off his list of possibles.]
no subject
Either way, she's giving him a small smile in turn.]
Nice to meet you, too. And yeah, that's what always seems to trigger the time losses.
[Wait. He's going to actually try and hurt her? That's not what she signed up for, but at the same time she really wants to figure this out... There's no other option here, really.]
It... probably is, yes. Probably telling me wouldn't help, either. Hm...
no subject
We can try heading towards the mountains. Demons from the Outlands show up there sometimes. If we run into something, it might provoke a reaction from you. If it doesn't, I'll fight it off.
Unless you don't have the time to wait around.
no subject
No, the mountains sounds absolutely fine. If anything happens, at least we'll be close enough for help if it's needed. [So she thinks, but who even knows at this point.]
If you wanted to lead the way...? I assume they aren't that far?
no subject
Where I'm thinking? Not far, no.
[The academy's located on the Alps, so the mountain is really just outside the campus grounds.]
Outlanders just don't tend to show up too close to campus. They tried it once. They haven't tried it again since.
[Of course he couldn't have phrased this less ominously. There is a half smile though as he starts heading off school grounds.]
Let's get going then.
no subject
Either way, she's immediately following after him, and just keeping a bit of distance to remain behind and off to the side. It's habit at this point, but it does speak once again to how she seems to deal with people.]
I know not all of the Outlanders are bad, but these ones absolutely are, right?
no subject
[The need for personal space and general awkwardness is something they apparently both share, though it's a little subtler with Keith for now. As they walk off campus, there are several well trodden paths leading into Soleil and the more popular locations like the ski resort. Keith picks his own path that appears to be leading toward an area that's densely crowded with trees.
He walks at a moderate pace, periodically checking to see if Kisara's doing alright on the uneven terrain.]
If they attack us, seems like it'd be a safe bet.
no subject
[She's not seeming to have a single problem with the terrain, oddly enough, but she's used to weird terrains and footing not being the best if you weren't careful. Even if she's starting to feel like this might have been a horrid idea and they're going to end up in serious trouble or dead before this is all said and done with.
Of course she didn't think about that until right about now.]
And we... should be able to handle them? [Oh boy.]
no subject
[There isn't a whole lot of doubt here, which is either encouraging or says way too much about Keith's level of recklessness.]
You said it yourself. You've felt threatened before. Even if you don't know what's going on ... you're still alive. If nothing else, you should believe in your will to survive.
[But then more practically, he adds.]
I've fought a few Outlanders before. If anything turns up that's too much to handle, we won't be too far from campus.
no subject
She hopes.
Even if his words are getting her to frown and slow down just a tiny bit, there's something about all of this that is sounding alarm bells in her head.]
I don't think most of them were anything other than regular humans, so I don't know if that's really... applicable here? [Fair enough point.]
... Right. Hopefully it won't take too long. [So they can just get this over with.]
no subject
[That's an oddly specific question though, and Keith seems to realize as much after he's said it. Backpedaling:]
Never mind.
[Not too far ahead, the trees start thinning out again and what appears to be the remains of an abandoned campsite appear in view. There's a bit of unnatural mist in the area.]
They come through here sometimes. [The Outlanders, he means.] Seems quiet for now.
no subject
But she'll let it drop when he's dropping it and just silent until that view happens. And something is getting the hair on the back of her neck to stand.]
We need to leave. [What?]
no subject
What? [What INDEED.] Just stay close. It's gonna be fine.
[He does scan the area though, eyes narrowed though the mist doesn't do a whole lot for visibility.]
no subject
I don't know how to explain it, but something is off, really off. It doesn't look right, it doesn't feel right, it doesn't smell right. [Kisara, please, stop.]
no subject
Kisara. [He doesn't look at her yet, still looking around.] If you think it's dangerous, try to focus on your powers. I know you have them. You wouldn't be here withou--
[Behind a tree branch shakes, rustling the leaves. That's Keth's cue to whril around and raise his sword. But for now, he's still waiting and seeing.]
no subject
Once he's speaking again, she's pausing with a small frown. Focus on her powers? She doesn't even know what they are, so how is that supposed to help?]
I don't know how, I don't even know what they are...
no subject
[Still hidden from sight by mist and trees, a figure of some sort sends a fist-sized rock flying in their direction. Frowning, he side steps. Could be worse, all things considered. Still seems a low-key enough threat that he doesn't have to do anything about it yet.
These may or may not be famous last words.]
no subject
It wasn't too hard to recall most of them and she's ducking down to crouch when that rock is coming in their direction while taking a deep breath. She can feel something pulling at the back of her mind but so far nothing is coming of it.
How to even access that sort of thing? She hasn't a clue other than if this thing gets more violent than it already has.]
no subject
Who's there?
[His voice is a little more tense now -- is the fog supposed to help them escape or provide better cover for an attack?
Well the answer comes soon enough in the form of a crossbow bolt being shot straight at them.]
no subject
Her attention shifts back towards Keith for a moment when his blade ignites, that's... certainly neat and not expected. But any bit of admiration doesn't last long the moment that bolt is coming towards them and evidently that's about a good enough reason and time for a switch to be flipped.
Most kinds of shifting would be slower and with obvious changes in stages, but this isn't remotely the same thing when casting off a form that isn't actually yours. Which might be why the bolt is being met with a grouping of electricity to strike it down.
Of course that's just the beginning as the now huge honking dragon is where Kisara used to be and that roar doesn't sound remotely pleasant.
Hopefully whoever is in the fog is going to book it soon because there's no mercy to be found as after the roar the area in front of them is getting blasted with a continual stream of the same electricity as before.]
