they say it's from mexico but it's really just a french invention
you know, people are always more inclined to be wow'ed and amazed by things that are foreign to them
think about how many people get tattoos written in japanese or chinese without even know what it says
their own culture is far too boring for them. after all, that's what they grew up with and have known their entire lives. they want to experience something new and different
that's why you have things invented in one country but claim to be from another. they're just trying to exploit people like this
think about the "chinese" fortune cookie
although an american invention, they're associated with chinese food and restaurants and people love it because it's supposedly a different cultural custom when it's really not
