[There is a funny thing about Panic Attacks. Except, it's perhaps not funny at all. Jonathan's breathing is so ingrained into himself that it's practically impossible to snap away from the pattern- that hasn't changed. What has changed though is everything else, as each little thought just slowly shuts itself down, the bat's tiny body locking in place. This isn't like a fight with Dio. This isn't even like a fight with a proper enemy. It's someone he doesn't know. It's someone who wants to help someone else, even, that much is clear after all, but then why can't he somehow make it clear that he doesn't know what would help, hm?

He can't immediately refute the accusations against him. Would it be worth the risk? It couldn't possibly be, it's someone's life. Someone's life, who isn't even with them right now. It would be his responsibility- his teachings, on a subject he scarecely knows. It makes sense to refuse. It makes sense, but someone's life is on hand, and the two facts clash, and clash, and clash with the same ferocity as Maverick's own words.

Jonathan doesn't even realize Stone Free has been summoned to punch. Doesn't even register the motion of the knife above him, because somehow it seems like his vision has just...stopped. Like nothing is actually there, and he's not really sure what is.

[If anything, Jonathan wasn't going to lash out at anything. He feels oddly limp as he's scooped up, and it takes a few seconds- long, quiet moments punctuated entirely with rhythmic breathing in and out- before he does anything at all.

[Worried is a good word for it, yeah. She's quiet as she's just kind of awkwardly standing there with a panic attacking bat in her hands. Until he's calmed down enough and she's letting out a soft huff of breath.]

What? No, I was going to deck him for being an insensitive asshole about all of this towards you? Wouldn't call it intervening. [Jonathan, stop assuming she's doing shit she isn't doing.]

You wanna go chill somewhere quieter until things calm down a bit? [A delicate way of asking if he wants to unwind somewhere else away from the public eye.]
