You know, at first I thought I had you all wrong. I thought these April pranks were cool and that you finally understood stuff. I thought we could have a good time and we wouldn't even leave any corpses behind. But noooo. I mean, come on, you guys switch bodies and stuff it's "just a prank" and "all in good fun" but when I want to make a friend I'm "evil" and "a danger to everyone around me". You guys are lame. This isn't a fun trick at all. >::(

Games, yes. Pranks... depend. They can be fun, but mostly it's just to annoy people.

Well, no, because I don't know you.

But you don't know my hosts. To reach out to me is to feel that despair, anger, and grief so fully, they must make a sacrifice. It means the pain in their hearts is too much to bear alone. And so I take that pain and I make it mine. The world is already full of suffering, but being able to share that good or bad means going further than we ever would have. I have lived short human lifetimes. I would never call them incomplete.

I do not know them, but I have known humans. I have seen the lengths they will go to escape that which they do not want to face, I have seen them tear themselves and others to pieces for a hope of erasing things like despair from the world entirely.

Though would it not be better to embrace it? To accept all that life has to offer means accepting that which is unpleasant, not trying to erase or replace it because of your own selfish desires. Snuffing out those parts of you... What do you have to gain?

All that aside possessing people isn't actually an acceptable form of friendship especially if you end up consuming them in the process.

Some students made them hold up a free hugs sign. They didn't know if they were doing April fools right. I didn't know either so I said it was about pranks which are things that are fun? Like a game. And that hugs were fun so it was a prank. So they maybe didn't know they were supposed to be annoyed even though they looked really uncomfortable. And now they think they're supposed to be pranked.

I gain everything.

I gain life and growth, friendship and memory. I gain a heart that is full of experience.

It is easy to be sad. Unhappiness is as simple as doing nothing. Stagnancy fosters itself until death. But happiness is action. You reach for it and create. You have to be willing to get it. And if you're not willing, then your life is imbalanced. My hosts may endure years of pain before I am called to bring them joy.

The world will never be without despair. I would not survive without it. But that means I can act. I can do something for them. And having known pain, we can know even more how much that joy is worth. Nothing is snuffed. I am a collector. I change. But it is all here within me.

It matters what my hosts think. Our bonds are special. But I'm not allowed another host until my contract is up. I thought this would be something good instead. Now my contract is even longer. And people are saying those bonds were lies.

Ah. See, I fully agree every contract is a tool of captivity, but usually people excuse it due to the captivity being mutual - both parties bound by terms that they both agreed on.

Your case however... well, that's a contract only in name anymore.
