[Akechi has moved from sitting on Mav's bed to his own, legs dangling over the ladder of the loft. He's covering a snicker with one hand when Kanata walks in, but pauses that to give him an appraising look.]

So, you're the cat's other caretaker?

At one point, it was a hefty thing, but by this point it's over half gone from use.]

I'm on academic leave right now, though...technically there's something here related to a case I was working back home. It would be unprofessional of me to name names, of course, but I did wind up investigating whether or not a certain supernatural group from Tokyo is a threat to public safety.

After identifying a member of the group, I've come to the conclusion that they're more akin to vigilantes than terrorists. A problem for criminals outside the reach of the law, but not to ordinary citizens.
