I have a few things to discuss with everyone at large, so I believe the network will be the best avenue to approach this.

Firstly, my classes will be put on hold for a while - most likely only a week or two, barring any unforseen complications.

The reason for this is that I will be having spinal surgery done by Ekkehardt in a few days, so while I assume the recovery process will not be long - it never hurts to be thorough about such things.

Second, I would also like to extend an invitation to anyone who is curious to come and watch the procedure - I'm told that my condition is a bit...unusual, and I believe it could potentially be a fine learning experience for those interested.

And Third also ties into the procedure itself, as Ekkehardt will have to behead me in order for for him to have enough time to carry it out, as my death is the only thing that halts my regeneration for a bit. Though this sounds extreme, I am actually caught in a liminal state between life and death - A sort of odd undead, though I am still human enough to pass within general society. If this disturbs you, then I would suggest not attending.

Lastly, I wish to extend my well wishes towards the students and faculty for the new year, and hope that we can all strive towards excellence - both academically and personally.

I can't help but feel a little disappointed that I missed dibs on Hamlet, but who am I to miss a good old fashioned beheading?

Knowing you you'd use magic to do it and I can't have a potential contaminant cluttering up the procedure. There's going to be enough magic to deal with as is.

Unless you know how to behead someone 100% manually I'm afraid you're going to have to find another opportunity.

I'll have you know I've manually decapitated plenty of people back in my heyday! Ripped right off their shoulders.

One time I even managed to get the whole spine along with!

Definitely one of my finest accomplishments if I do say so myself.

Huh. And here I thought it'd be easier to work on. Go figure. Guess that's one reason I don't have a medical degree.

Perhaps....if my spine was fully intact, that is. It's been quietly rotting inside me for over a century.

So, uh, is that going to grow back when your head's back on or is it getting completely replaced?

Technically, my magic seems to be forming a sort of replacement spine. The issue is that it's focused not on support, but on trying to regenerate the remaining bits - something that has left me in constant, unstoppable agony for the same amount of time.

The surgery, as I understand it, is to remove those last fragments and implant something for the magic to cling to so it can finally stop trying to regenerate itself.

Either he's going soft or he's still got some lingering thankfulness for the Christmas money.

I don't normally offer this kind of thing, but if a spare minion will get you on your feet again, I'd be willing to loan one in exchange for a few graded midterms.

This is a spinal surgery and I need to reattach it afterwards as seamlessly as possible so unless you can do it cleanly then this isn't going to work.

[ Also he's already making enough allowances as it is so he's not going to allow someone else to decapitate regardless, but still. ]
